The Day of Red Ashes
A week long project at the British Museum for young people with autism. The participants created fictional accounts inspired by the Pompeii exhibition about the day in the life of a character leading up to the disaster.
Statues and frescoes were brought to life using an iPad App called Morfo which allows the user to map faces onto still images and create automatic lip synch and head movements.
The project was particularly focused on developing social skills though collaborative activities involved in the production and was supported by Camden Speech and Language Therapy Service for Young People. The course was provided by Camden Summer University.
